Counselor In Training
Dates: July 9-August 4 (week 5-8)

The C.I.T. program is a leadership training experience for young adults ages 14-18. Participants will engage in hands-on training based around the four Cs of becoming a good role model:
Confidence, Communication, Creativity, and Commitment
C.I.T.s will learn what it means to be a leader at camp with lessons that extend beyond the camp experience. Small group sessions will include risk management, team building, stewardship, emergency preparedness, and basic leadership of camp activities. Through these sessions and hands-on experiences, participants will learn what it means to be a professional and a role model.
What should parents know?
In order to create a realistic and job-like atmosphere from the start, we are asking that C.I.T.s apply to the program rather than their parents registering them. After completing the application (linked above), parents will be sent a registration form and health form to be completed before the camper attends the program. Similar to other programs, a pick-up authorization sheet will be required. Therefore, parents will need to be present both at drop-off and pick-up times.
The program will last one month, week 5 - 8, with weekends included. That being said, if there are times on the weekends when you would like to visit, we can make this possible. You will be required to let us know ahead of time so that we can plan accordingly (some weekends will be filled with special trainings, others with recreation times).
As with all programs, your child will be supervised by well-trained staff, given opportunities to learn and grow daily, and come away with a new understanding of community and leadership. Thank you for letting them experience this new program and for your continued support of Lutheran Lakeside Camp.
